What is PureCut?

PureCut is an advanced AI-powered background removal tool that runs entirely in your web browser. Unlike traditional services that upload your images to servers, PureCut processes everything locally on your device, ensuring complete privacy and security for your images.

How to Use PureCut

Step 1: Choose Quality Mode

Select one of three quality modes based on your needs:

  • Fast Mode: Quick processing with good results, ideal for simple images and quick previews
  • Normal Mode: Balanced quality and speed, recommended for most use cases
  • High Mode: Best quality with detailed edge detection, perfect for professional work

Note: The model will load automatically when you select a quality mode. First-time loading may take a few moments.

Step 2: Upload Your Image

You can upload an image in two ways:

  • Drag and Drop: Simply drag an image file from your computer and drop it onto the upload area
  • Click to Browse: Click on the upload area to open your file browser and select an image

Supported formats: JPG, PNG, WebP, and other common image formats

Step 3: Process Your Image

Once your image is uploaded and the model is ready, click the "Start Processing" button. The AI will analyze your image and remove the background automatically.

Processing time varies depending on image size and selected quality mode. Typically, it takes a few seconds to complete.

Step 4: Review and Download

After processing, you'll see a comparison view showing:

  • Original Image: Your uploaded image on the left
  • Background Removed: The processed result on the right
  • Interactive Slider: Drag the slider to compare before and after

You can also:

  • Change the background preview (white, black, or transparent grid)
  • Download the result as a PNG file with transparent background

Technical Requirements

To use PureCut, you need:

  • A modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, or similar)
  • JavaScript enabled
  • WebAssembly support (available in all modern browsers)
  • Sufficient device memory for processing (recommended: 4GB+ RAM)

Note: The first time you use a quality mode, the AI model needs to be downloaded and loaded into your browser. This is a one-time process per quality mode and may take a minute or two depending on your internet connection.

Troubleshooting

Model won't load

If the model fails to load, try refreshing the page. Make sure you have a stable internet connection for the initial download. If the problem persists, try a different quality mode or clear your browser cache.

Processing is slow

Processing speed depends on your device's performance and image size. Try using Fast Mode for quicker results, or reduce the image size before uploading.

Results aren't perfect

AI background removal works best with clear subjects and distinct backgrounds. For complex images, try High Mode for better edge detection. Some images may require manual touch-up in image editing software.

Browser compatibility

If you experience issues, make sure you're using an updated browser version. PureCut requires modern browser features like WebAssembly and Web Workers.
